Questions about our rates?

What are the total costs for Greenwheels?
Register When signing up, you pay a one-off deposit of € 100. You will receive the deposit back in full after your subscription, provided that you pay all your bills. A reservation on your credit card will expire automatically. ⁠Monthly costs Depending on your subscription, you may or may not pay a monthly subscription fee. The higher these costs, the lower the usage rates. ⁠Usage costs The total fare is calculated based on the time you book a Greenwheels car and the number of kilometres driven. Also, optional costs may occur for the deductible or when you let us make a booking by phone or email.
How can I pay and when do I receive an invoice?
You'll receive an invoice after your trip. Do you have the Occasional rate? Then you'll receive an invoice within 2 working days after your trip. Do you have a different rate? Then we'll send you an invoice max. twice a month, if you made a trip or any other costs occur. ⁠ ⁠If you choose a rate with a monthly fee, this fee will be charged on every first invoice of the month. When you sign up, you can choose to pay via iDEAL (direct debit) or credit card. We accept credit cards from Mastercard or Visa. We do not accept debit cards or prepaid credit cards.
Do I pay for the whole booking or only for the time that I use the car?
With Greenwheels, you book, drive and pay only for the time you booked the car (per 15 minutes) and the driven kilometres. ⁠ ⁠Of course, plans can change. That's why you can also cancel your Greenwheels trip. You can do this up to 24 hours before the start of your booking with the Occasional rate and up to the start of your booking with the Regular and Frequent rates. ⁠ ⁠Need the car a little longer? No worries, you can always extend your booking if the car is available. With the Regular and Frequent rate, you can also shorten your ongoing trip up to 2 hours. That's ideal if you return earlier!
How long does it take after signing up before I can book a car?
After completing your signup, you can directly book a car and hit the road. Sometimes we need to do an extra check. Then it can take a little longer before you can hit the road with a Greenwheels car.
Do I have to take care of car insurance if I want to make use of Greenwheels?
No, you don't. Every car is insured, including a liability and personal accident insurance. That means that harm to both passengers and third parties is covered. The possessions that you bring into the car are not covered by this car insurance. We cannot be held responsible for theft or damage to your possessions. ⁠ ⁠For damage to Greenwheels cars there's a deductible, that you can adjust per trip. You can do that in your account when you book a car.
What are Budget cars?
Greenwheels shared cars may get marked as Budget cars. When you hit the road with a Budget car, you’ll receive 10% off your trip (hourly and kilometre prices). You can filter on these cars in the app or on the website. Please note: discount locations may change, so always make sure to check if you have selected a Budget car. You can recognise these cars by the icon with a % sign.
