Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
About the pilot & the app
What is a pilot?
A pilot is a trial period or test phase during which we test a new product, platform, or working method with a specific group of users. This helps us discover what works well and gather feedback to improve the platform.
Why do I need to switch to the Check app for this pilot?
We want to test whether we can make the reservation and driving experience even simpler. By temporarily using the Check app, you help us discover what works and what doesn't.
When and how long does the pilot take place?
The pilot runs from Wednesday, October 21 through Tuesday, November 17, 2026. During these 4 weeks, you will reserve and use Greenwheels cars in Hoofddorp exclusively via the Check app.
Does this apply to all cars in the Netherlands?
No, the pilot applies specifically and exclusively to Greenwheels cars in Hoofddorp. If you participate in the pilot, you will not be able to reserve Greenwheels cars in the rest of the Netherlands during these four weeks (neither via the Check app nor via the Greenwheels app).
What do you pay during the pilot?
For Greenwheels cars during the pilot, you pay the same or a lower per-kilometer and hourly rate. Before reserving, you will always see the current price in the Check app. Exactly what happens to your rate depends on your current Greenwheels subscription.
Can I reserve Check cars, moped and bikes?
Yes, absolutely. With the Check app, you can reserve and rent both mopeds, bikes and cars.
Reservations
What happens to my existing reservations between October 21 and November 18?
If you reserved a Greenwheels car prior to October 21 for the period between October 21 and November 18, this reservation will expire on October 21. If you still want to rent the car, you can make a new reservation via the Check app starting October 21.
How does extending my trip work?
You can extend your trip via the app during your drive by a maximum of six hours, provided there is no subsequent reservation. Previously, this could be extended indefinitely until the next reservation. Do you know before departure that you will need more time? Simply cancel your reservation free of charge and rebook your trip.
Account & Login
I already have a Check account, what happens then?
If you use the exact same login method (email address and password) for both accounts, your Greenwheels and Check accounts will automatically merge into one. You will retain your existing Check password. From that moment on, the accounts can no longer be used separately. You will now log in via the Check app, and the Greenwheels app can no longer be used to book trips.
Do I need to create a new account with Check?
No. You can simply log in to Check using the credentials from your Greenwheels account. Enter your current email address and password in the Check app to gain immediate access.
During the transition, all your details will automatically be transferred. This includes your address details, linked payment method, bank details, and trip history.
How do I contact customer service?
Questions or issues during the pilot? Contact Check customer service directly through the Check app. Do not contact Greenwheels customer service during the pilot period. Greenwheels customer service will not be able to assist you.
Can I already install and log in to the Check app before October 21?
You can download the Check app prior to October 21, but logging in with your Greenwheels credentials will only be possible as of October 21. Until then, continue using the Greenwheels app.
Driving credit (€ 200,-)
How do I receive the €200 (driving) credit?
As soon as you download the Check app and log in with your Greenwheels credentials, the €200 driving credit will automatically be linked to your account without needing to enter a promo code.
What can I use the driving credit for, and for how long?
The driving credit can strictly be used for trips with Greenwheels cars in Hoofddorp during the pilot period (October 21 through November 17, 2026). Any unused driving credit will expire at the end of the pilot.
Can I share this credit with someone else?
No, the credit and access to this pilot are exclusively linked to your personal account.
Drive
Can I reduce my deductible during the pilot?
No, reducing or waiving the deductible is not possible during the pilot. The deductible is €500.
What if I want to rent a Greenwheels car in another city during the pilot period?
The pilot strictly applies to cars in Hoofddorp. Greenwheels cars in the rest of the Netherlands are temporarily unavailable via the app for pilot participants.
Extra drivers
Can I still add an additional driver in the Check app?
Yes, you can. In the Check app, this feature is called Family. You can find this in the app's account menu under Family. In your Family overview, you can immediately see how many new members you can still add.
Will my additional drivers also be transferred to the Check app?
Yes, your additional drivers will be transferred to the Check app along with all their details and linked payment method. They can also log in using their Greenwheels credentials.
Can I share my discount with additional drivers (Family)?
With PRO+, you can continue sharing your 30% discount with up to 3 additional drivers within your Family. With PRO, it is not possible to share your benefits with additional drivers.

What if I prefer not to participate in the pilot?
Don't want to participate? Send an email to customer service at hoofddorp@greenwheels.nl before Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Any existing reservations for the pilot period will then be cancelled free of charge.
