The new Volkswagen up!
Greenwheels has begun replacing the Peugeot 107s in our fleet with Volkswagen up! models. For logistics reasons, the process will be carried out in phases. Therefore, it may take a while before the entire fleet is replaced, but chances are you will come across the new up! soon. The Volkswagen up! comes standard equipped with air conditioning. In addition, the boot size of the up! is almost twice the size of the Peugeot 107. In fact, its 251-litre boot is among the biggest in its class.
The Volkswagen up! is equipped with BlueMotion start/stop technology, which lowers fuel consumption especially for drivers who drive in stop-and-start city traffic or congested areas. The innovative start/stop system automatically stops the engine when you come to a standstill and ensures that you can resumes driving simply by engaging the clutch, reducing CO2 emissions by 8% in city traffic. In fact, with its BlueMotion engine technology, the up! has the lowest CO2 emissions of any non-electric vehicle in its class.
The Volkswagen up! was evaluated for its safety performance under the Euro NCAP assessment scheme, and it achieved a five-start overall rating – the highest possible score in the ratings system. Most up! models also have all-season tires for extra grip in the winter months.
